Functions are many and you can use that Acronis True Image trial to really evaluate the software. So buckle up, here is the Acronis True Image Review.

Acronis True Image Price

You can choose from three different price tiers from Standard to Premium. You can get a neat free trial to test any of the Acronis True Image 2019 features.

  • Standard is $49.99 one-time purchase without any cloud features. Only local backups.
  • Advanced is $49.99 a year and it has everything Standard has to offer with 250GB of the cloud storage. Your back-ups will be end-to-end encrypted which makes them pretty secured. You can add $10 and get 500GB of the cloud.
  • Premium is $99.99 a year. It includes everything mentioned above with such neat things as blockchain file certification and electronic signatures on files. 1TB of the cloud storage is yours to use with an option to upgrade to up to 5TB for additional $79.96.

All in all True Image is quite pricey but you get what you paid for. It is net software so it worths its price. True Image upgrade is 30% cheaper than a first-time purchase.

True Image supports Windows 7 and above (with limited support of Windows XP, which is insanely cool), macOS 10.11 and above, iOS 8.0 and above and Android 4.1 or later.

You can download your free trial from the official website.

Security and Cyber Protection

Starting from Advanced option True Image supports end-to-end encryption. To put it simply cyber protection of this type of encryption is very strong. Nobody but you would be able to read your files, not even Acronis company itself. You can even generate your local encryption key. You would have a problem with True Image if you lose it – you won’t be able to recover your data without a key, so be careful!

The company itself is based in the USA so it follows the American laws. That means that you can feel safe that Acronis wouldn’t misuse your personal information in any way.

Local and Cloud Backups

Acronis True Image 2019 Review

First of all, you will need to create an Acronis account. True Image 2019 interface is pretty easy to use with big buttons which are self-explanatory and labeled. It’s the best-looking backup service and easiest to use.

Next, you would need to specify if you want to backup your whole drive or just some folders. You can see the whole structure of your computer so selecting the folders as easy as checking them with a tick.

Then you should choose where to store your backup. Advanced and Premium options would allow you to choose Acronis Cloud. Also, you can store your backup on an external drive or simply on your computer.

When you’re done just press “Back Up Now” button and here you go. Alternatively, you can pick a specific time of the backup or schedule the regular backups – Daily, Weekly, Monthly or even real-time nonstop backups. This continues real-time option backups any file as soon as you make changes to it. It can’t be chosen if you’re backing up a whole computer.

Advanced settings allow you to tweak the number of backups, create an encryption key, create “Upon Event” backups (like when you shut down your computer).

Additional Features: Archive and Sync

If you go to the Archive tab you would find a tool that analyzes your folders. It checks if files are unnecessary and upload them to the cloud or an external hard drive. You can adjust it to work automatically. All the archives could be found with File Explorer.

Synch feature allows you to synchronize selected folders and files across multiple devices. It means that you can edit a file on one computer and then see the edits using another computer.

Recovering the Files

Restoring your files from a backup is no brainer with Acronis True Image. You just select one of the backups, go to the Restore tab and choose the needed files or folders. Additionally, you can tweak the settings to reboot the computer or overwrite the files on your hard drive.

And even if you would like to restore the whole hard drive it won’t get any more complicated. The process is similar.

Recovering your files is also possible with the web client. But I suggest you use standalone software because it allows you to select specific folders and basically easier to use. If you’d use the web client then your retrieved files would be downloaded as a ZIP archive.

Active Protection from Ransomware

Ransomware is a terrible virus that blocks your computer and demands you to send money to unblock it. If you get in that situation you’d better back your computer up and then restore it after full cleaning.

Active Protection ensures that you back up only good healthy files and not the virus itself. Also, it protects you from malware that does crypto mining.

Acronis Ransomware Protection also has a great function to block ransomware from operating. It shows you a pop-up window that suggests you block suspicious behavior.
